How far along? 17 Weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: down 4 pounds thus far...we will see if there is a change after my appt tomorrow

Maternity clothes? Starting to wear some maternity pants (even though they are big) since my normal jeans are just not comfortable anymore.

Sleep: Not very good....wake up at least twice to go to the bathroom and then I lay there tossing and turning struggling to fall back asleep

Best moment this week: Getting to see baby and hear baby's heart beat during an unexpected ultrasound while in the ER

Movement: Nothing yet :(

Food cravings: Fruit Roll-ups and bagels with peanut butter

Gender: Hopefully we find out the date of our ultrasound at my appt. tomorrow :)

Labor Signs: nope

Belly Button in or out? No change yet

What I miss: Good nights sleep, not having horrible round ligament pains!!

What I am looking forward to: My appt tomorrow....we will be finding out when we can find out the gender

Weekly Wisdom: Sometimes afternoon naps are a must!!

Milestones: Baby is now the size of an onion :)

Last Thursday at 4 am, I woke B up because I was having V.E.R.Y painful stabbing pains in my lower left side of my stomach. The pain was so bad I was not even able to walk. I thought I might be passing a kidney stone. Since I was in such pain, my lovely husband insisted that we go to the E.R. Once at the hospital, I had some blood work done and an ultrasound done to make sure everything was okay with baby. It was painful because the ultrasound tech had to push on my left side exactly where I was having pains in order to get some of the pics of baby. I bared through the pain though since we were getting to see pics of baby. It was amazing to see how much he/she has grown since my last ultrasound at 9 weeks. Baby was wiggling and kicking all around :) Heart reat was 150 bpm and Baby is measuring 2 days ahead at this point which is good. After the ultrasound, I saw the doctor again and was told that they were not sure what was causing my pain but all the tests they ran all came back normal. I was sent home with instructions to rest and return if the pain worsened. I also had to make sure to see my Dr. the next day to get checked by him.

Friday morning around 6 am the horrible stabbing pains returned....later that afternoon I had my appt with my OB and he said the pains were most likely severe round ligament pains. He said they could go away just as fast as they came or they could last the rest of my pregnancy.....sweet!! The Dr. told me when I get the pain to take a tylenol, lay down , and put a heating pad on low over the area of the pain for alittle while and that should help the pain. So far it has worked...have not had any severe pains as the first two times I felt them which is good. Other than that nothing else exciting has happened in awhile. Mom and baby are doing just fine!!!
